Mario Testino – “Get Obsessed”

Mario Testino, a fashion photographer, has worked with hundreds of notable celebrities and models, alongside big-name-brands such as Burberry, Versace, Chanel and Gucci (just to name a few) and renowned magazines including Vogue, Vanity Fair and GQ.

Despite his photography being featured internationally, – and photographing the likes of Madonna, Princess Diana and more recently Kendall Jenner – his famous quotes are definitely words to live by, and that is why they are my favourite quotes. They are all placed strategically around the walls of my home, giving my family and I the perfect motivation and inspiration to always be ourselves and conquer our goals, never letting anyone or anything stop us from what we want to achieve; I hope they give you the same feeling too.

‘Make every day exciting’ – Mario Testino

This is a motto I live by every day. Make each day exciting. There’s no point going through life doing nothing and not enjoying yourself – make your life exciting. Explore, learn new things, make new friends, embrace new experiences – be rich in knowledge and in life (it’s far more important than money).

“I often find perfection boring” – Mario Testino

Yes, okay, being perfect is what we all secretly might want. To have the perfect lives, the perfect family, the perfect job, the perfect skin, blah blah blah. But this isn’t true. No one is perfect. I have learnt to accept my so-called ‘flaws’ and embrace them. Being weird and out-there is never a bad thing and more people should be encouraged to pursue good things and be creative. Never shy away from being yourself – be you.

“Different is always attractive” – Mario Testino

Following on from the previous quote, it is never a bad thing to be different. According to Mario Testino it’s “attractive”. I must admit, it is true. I fell in love with my boyfriend for his weirdness (love you Callum), and I’m pretty sure he fell in love with me for mine. Being different makes you stand out from the crowd, something that is courageous and should be celebrated and accepted in society. So, carry on doing you I say.

Liking something isn’t enough – love it. Life is too short to just like something.Put your all into whatever you want to accomplish. Everything. Your heart and soul. Because simply, that is the key to success – this is exactly what I have done with my writing and why I began blogging, because I became obsessed with the idea of writing for a living and becoming a blogger/journalist/writer.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single person that has liked any of my posts or followed me over the last month as I have begun my blogging life. I am so overwhelmed and so happy that ‘being obsessed‘ has paid off.
