Ways to Refresh your Wardrobe for Spring

Hello May!

Where has the time gone? Hope you’ve all had a lovely long bank holiday weekend (if you live in the UK). It’s now officially spring and I’m feeling so ready for more sun, a tan (probably not, thanks to my Irish roots) and colours galore.

Now that the warmer, sunnier weather is upon us, it’s time to give your wardrobe a little refresh. I did a mini shop last week, swapping those dull, dark colours for pastels and bold, bright hues and I already feel a new lease of life (it sounds cringe I know). I’ve made a quest to not wear too much black this year and I’ve tried to ditch the black skinny jeans, so let’s see how it goes!

Despite the fact you’re giving your wardrobe a new burst of life, you really don’t have to spend a ridiculous amount of money on new clothes – a few items here and there will do the trick. Being on a tight budget myself, I only picked up a few tops, 2 pairs of trousers, a long-line summer jacket and a bright mini bag for under £50. If you shop in the right places, you can still get stunning pieces that are chic and stylish, without breaking the bank!

“think pink, red, orange and yellow”

Whether you want to be daring and go all-out with a bright coloured ensembles, or display pops of colour with accessories, such as bags and jewellery, it’s entirely up to you. I personally prefer to keep things safe, so I can easily mix and match my clothes to create as many different outfits as possible – important if you’re a student.

Here are some of my favourite picks for your spring wardrobes this spring/summer:

Ruffle loving | This colour is the perfect springtime hue
All white everything with a pop of red | Add a red mini bag and you’re good to go
Leather shearling-style jacket and mules create the perfect spring workwear outfit

Bell Sleeves

A white bell sleeve top with mom jeans = winning combo
bell sleeves tucked
The one-tuck is everything this SS17 – so chic and flattering
bell sleeves skirt
For a more formal look, wear a bell sleeve top with a midi skirt and heels

White and gingham go perfectly hand-in-hand with eachother | Pair with a stunning statement mini bag to finish off the look
gingham double
Double gingham done right | Fashion Blogger and Youtuber Alicia Roddy showing that double gingham can work. Team with a pair of bold shoes for a eye-catching look
gingham coat
Gingham coats are in this spring/summer ’17 | Pair with a bright bag, like pictured, for an eye-catching street style outfit

pink mules
Satin creates a gorgeous texture to an outfit. Add a graphic/slogan tee and statement shoes, like these leopard print mules (pictured)
pink red
Pink + red = game changer | This outfit is perfect for a more formal and bold look e.g. work attire or a special occasion
pink bag
Pastels are the epitome of spring | Pastel pink and white go so well together and create a gorgeous look for whatever the occasion: casual, work or an event

stripe shirt
Blue and white stripes, like this shirt, are a popular choice this SS17 | Pair with denim for a casual look, or a pair of black culottes and heels for date night
stripe mustard
Mustard yellow is one of the colour’s of the season | Culottes are so versatile and comfortable – a wardrobe must-have
You can never go wrong with monochrome | Double stripes can be done!

With love,

P.S: Apologies for the lack of posts last week! My boyfriend went back to uni today and I wanted to make the most of our last week together. But don’t worry, you’ll have double the posts this week to make up for it! Promise X
