What to Wear on a Date Night?

Valentine’s Day is almost here – 4 days to be precise. The best way to dress up an outfit is to accessorise, whether it be through glam shoes, a diamante choker, bold makeup, sparkly nails or a strong clutch. If you prefer a super simple look, or want to spice things up a little bit and make a statement, there are a number of styles that look great – and they don’t have to cost an arm and a leg.

You can never go wrong with a bold lip

… especially on Valentine’s Day

There are many different looks you can try – bold and sophisticated with a red lip and black winged liner, or a subtle smokey eye with a nude lip. There are many tutorials out there on the internet with step-by-step picture guides or videos. Currently I am obsessing over Rachel Leary, Hannah Martin and Nikki De Jager‘s tutorials on Valentine’s makeup ideas, each with different looks. Hannah specialises in a more subtle classic look, whereas Rachel and Nikki focus on making a statement. I would also like to add that Lisa Potter-Dixon‘s videos are full of make up tips and tricks that are so handy to know.

Hairstyles

Straightening is one way you can style your hair, whether it be completely straight or textured (see below). In my opinion, curls look amazing – bouncy blow-dry’s create volume and add some important sassiness to your look. Although if you’re looking for a stunning up-do, try the looks pictured above. A milkmaid’s braid looks super cute and a half-braided ponytail creates a stunning chic look.
